My hometown is "Nankan" which is located at the north area in Kumamoto. The population is about 12,000 and the half of the people are over 65. In short, Nankan is a households with elderly persons. Of course, there are some facilities for elderly people.

But, here is a good place to live because there are much nature. In fact, my house is surrounded by a forest. I can always see rice fields and birds. That's beautiful.
Moreover, the food of Nankan is also popular and tasty. Nankan Age, for example, is often used for a ingredient of Miso-soup and a laver of Sushi. The unique point of this is to absorb soup well, so it gets very juicy.

Uraka-Kan is a hot-spring facility and the local people, in particular elderly people, visit there and have a relaxing time in the bath.
There are many hot springs not only Nankan but also other places, so I'll show you other spas.

A vacant lot of an old tea house called "Otya-ya-ato" is a historical place. In present day, it was repaired and looks new, but the original one was built in 1852.
Daimyo, Samurai, even the local people visited there to have a brake. In those days, Japan was in Edo era, then all Daimyo must go to Edo to greet the tycoon (Iesada Tokugawa) at the beginning of the new year. It was annual event (Sankin-kotai).

On the way to Edo, they often stayed there as a resting-place because it took about 10 days to go.
Today, after the repairing of the building, insteresting events hold there and people come to see.
I want to write information more, but that's all for today.
See you again.
